April 27 – Anti-Trafficking in the UK

Thursday 27 April, 6.30 p.m – King’s College London

Focused on anti-trafficking and labor exploitation, speakers will discuss important issues plaguing anti-trafficking movements and policy.

Speakers:

Ishaan Shah is the Founding Director of Stolen Dreams and Co-Founder of the Youth for Freedom collective, two international youth-led collectives working with stakeholders to counter contemporary forms of slavery and trafficking in person through education, advocacy and policy. 

Dr. James Sinclair is an international business and human rights lawyer. He is a Director in the Sustainable Procurement and Human Rights group at Verisk Maplecroft. 

Phil Brewer was the Lead Responsible Officer for combatting modern slavery & human trafficking in the Metropolitan Police Service. He has worked closely with the National Police Chiefs Coucil’s National Crime Agency & Europol. 

Professor Parosha Chandran is a professor of Modern Slavery Law at King’s College London. She works as a Human Rights Barrister at 1 Pump Court Chambers and as a Parliamentary Advisor.
